Mountain Sawyers is a specialized lumber and milling company that services Western N.C. and surrounding areas. Our focus is tri- fold, to supply the area with high-quality lumber that is essential for fine woodworking, to provide consumers with custom shaped moldings that cannot be found in generic lumber stores, and to help save logs that would otherwise be turned into waste wood by providing on site lumber milling operations.
Why Mountain Sawyers?
We control the entire process from log to lumber. One of our main strengths is that we hand select logs so that we know right from the start that high-grade lumber will be produced, second is how we cut the logs. We do not use a traditional blade mill, but rather a highly efficient Band Mill that produces 25% less material wastage than traditional mills. This combined with our efforts to re-claim logs that many times may be simply discarded helps to save our environment that has been so distressed by high-volume logging and timber wastage.
